Termingenie - Appointment Genius

A SaaS startup for online appointment booking (2011-2020)

Back in 2011, I started a small company around a product targeting the German-speaking market. The goal was to create a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to offer online appointment booking for mid-size companies.

"Termingenie" means "appointment genius" in German.

Timeline

1

2011 - Launch

Started the company and began development of the SaaS platform

2

2011-2017 - Growth

Grew the platform to 80 productive company customers

3

2017 - Development Paused

Stopped active development due to economic factors and market competition

2020 - Service Closed

Completely shut down the service

Why It Ended

Due to economic factors and specifically because of too much competition in this product space, I stopped active development around 2017 and closed the service completely in 2020.

The appointment booking market became increasingly crowded with well-funded competitors, making it difficult for a small, bootstrapped company to compete effectively.
